General Description A beautiful heritage home set in a leafy street in the heart of Auckland New Zealand, Braemar on Parliament Street BandB offers quality accommodation to the discerning traveller. All our guest rooms are upstairs on the 1st floor and are tastefully furnished with a mixture of the old and new. The Batten Suite, with ensuite bathroom and private tv lounge, and the Victorian room with an insuite bath and toilet, both have open fireplaces. Our Norman and Jenny rooms share a bathroom and are often booked as one unit. All our bathrooms have restored old style large clawfoot baths which are superb for relaxation and pampering. All toiletries are complimentary and we endeavour to offer the finest New Zealand made products available. The ground floor (street level at the front) has a front parlour and a large lounge, both available for your relaxation. Wireless broadband is available throughout the house, but if you want to go online and didn't bring your own laptop, you can go wireless with ours. The dining-room where you come for breakfast is located on the lower ground floor. Being located by Auckland University means that cinemas, theatres, cafes, restaurants, the Skytower, the Ferry Buildings, the railway and bus stations, the Vector Arena and ASB Tennis Courts are all just a short walk away. We share our home with two toy poodles and a small black cat. Transportation How to get to Braemar from the airport: The city is about 20kms from the Auckland International Airport. How you get here depends on the time you arrive and how much luggage you bring with you. 1. The Airbus - an airport bus leaves from outside the arrival terminal regularly for the city. Check the current pricing, timetable and route here http:www.airbus.co.nzhome This is a good alternative if you don't have many bags and you arrive during the hours the airbus runs. 2. Supershuttle - this is a mini-bus that will bring you to the door. It costs around NZ$36 for two people. The shuttles are parked to the side of the arrival terminal and they are usually available. 3. Taxi - this is the fastest way of getting here but costs around NZ$70. There are plenty of taxis in ranks outside the airport terminal, the door-to-door service is generally very good and there is no time restriction on their availability. If you arrive late at night and are unfamiliar with the city, try to avoid hiring a car and driving when you are tired.
