General Description The new Heritage Hotel of Abad Group- Grand Residencia-opened in Fort Cochin with grandeur of 140 years of history. This luxury hotel on the Princess Street of Kochi. Mr. Koder. a renowned businessman and a reputed Jew, built this house in the Portugese colony of Fort Kochi in 1868. This beautiful Koder House has a mixture of Portugese and Kerala architecture. After Koder family left for Israel, this was rented out to different business organizations .In the transition from Koder house to Grand Residencia, the Abad Group has taken care to retain the old-world charm of this historic house. The open courtyard, long verandas, typical Portuguese doors and windows.. everythings remains the same even after a century. There are 9 heritage rooms, 11 boutique rooms and 1 suite in Grand Residencia. All the rooms are equipped with A.C. Modern bathrooms, refrigerators, telephone and televisions. The beautiful swimming pool in the courtyard, party room which can accommodate 40people, the multi-cuisine restaurant and the reading lounge. But the main attraction definitely is the Ayurvedic spa called Revive which has qualified doctors and masseurs as staff. Dining The multi cuisine restaurant at Grande Residencia overlooks the patio and swimming pool . There is also a Party room for 40 persons and reading lounge. LocationDescription Kochi's international airport is at Nedumbassery, near Alwaye, 26km to the north of Ernakulam. There are two main railway stations-Ernakulam Junction near Jos junction in the heart of the town, and Ernakulam Town, 4km further north. No trains run to Fort Cochin or Mattancherry. The Cochin Harbour Terminus, on Willingdon Island, serves the luxury hotels on the Island. the KSRTC central bus stand ,beside the rail line east of MG Road and north of Ernakulam Junction, is for state-run long-distance services. There are also two stands for private services the Kaloor stand (rural destinations to the south and east) is across the bridge from Ernakulam Town railway station on the Alway Road; while the High Court stand (buses to Kumily, for Periyar Wildlife Reserve, and north to Thrissur, Guruvayur and Kodungallur) is opposite the High Court ferry jetty. The Fort Cochin bus stand serves tourist buses and local services to Ernakulam.
