Fitzpatrick's Inn Westbury (Australia)
General Description
Fitzpatrick"s Inn is steeped in history. Built in 1833 as a
coaching inn, this magnificently restored white Georgian two story home
continues its tradition of offering heritage accommodation, fine dining
with a la carte menu available from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive for lunch
and dinner.
Your hosts, Roger and Pam Swain, are also primary producers and can
enlighten you about Tasmanias fine produce.
Westbury is a very quaint little historic village with lots to see and do
both in the village and in nearby areas.
Attractions
We are located just 25 minutes from Launceston and its airport and 45
minutes from Devonport and the ferry terminal. Westbury has something for
everyone.
Westbury is a village of collections - the heritage listed White House has
many outstanding collections of vintage toys, motorbikes, cars (including
one that recently went from Peking to Paris) as well as a hand made dolls
house with a wonderful story. Next door is the old Bakery with a wood fired
oven and across the road the Village Green. Other collections include
Pearns Steam World - a collection of steam engines and old agricultural
equipment; Shaws Tractor Museum, Westbury Maze and John Temple Photographic
Gallery. There are many walking and cycling trails nearby including the
Liffey Falls which is located in the World Heritage area. Nearby historic
homes open to the public include Entally House, Brickendon and Woolmers.
Child Policy
Folding beds are available for children up to 15 and can be placed in
most rooms. $30 per child per night includes bed and breakfast.
