Victoria Hotel Port Macdonnell
General Description
The coastal town of Port MacDonnell caters for 2400 people living in
the District of Grant and an ever-increasing number of tourists and
visitors. It is located 467km south east of Adelaide and is the southern
most town/port in South Australia. It is officially known as ¿The Southern
Rock Lobster Capital of Australia¿ and hosts South Australia¿s largest
lobster fishing fleet of 64 professionals .
Late in November 2005 after 18 months planning and six months construction
the redevelopment of the Victoria Hotel and Shipwreck Bistro at Port
MacDonnell was completed. Australian Hotels Association Awards Include Best
Redevelopment 2006 & Best County Dining 2006 & runner up 2007.
