Fountain Terrace Hotel Melbourne
General Description
Built in 1880, Fountain Terrace has been lovingly restored to its
former glory by Penny and Heikki Minkkinen. The comfort and friendliness
of a traditional bed and breakfast combined with the charm and elegance of
a European hotel.
Seven beautiful guest rooms, all with private facilities individually
decorated with its own unique style.
Fountain Terrace has been extensively renovated but retains the warmth of
a traditional boutique hotel. An indulgent breakfast is served at a lovely
refectory table in the guest drawing room.
Fountain Terrace's proximity to the world famous restaurants of
Fitzroy and Acland Streets and the St.Kilda esplanade with its Sunday
market, places it perfectly for visitors to Melbourne looking for an
indulgent place to stay.
We also have in a separate building, five minutes from Fountain Terrace
two one bedroom apartments, perfect for longer stays, in an Art Deco
building facing a courtyard so street noise is not an issue. Modern chic
decor.
Attractions
Fountain Terrace is an excellent alternative to large, city hotels.
Penny and Heikki have created a professional yet friendly environment for
the business person or visitor to Melbourne. Fountain Terrace is
conveniently situated on a beautiful tree-lined avenue just moments from
the sea. There are many restaurants and cafes just a short walk from us,
the beach is five minutes walk at the end of Mary Street. Albert Park Lake
- home to Melbournes Formula One Grand Prix is five minutes walk. A short
tram ride and you are in Melbourne city centre. Royal Botanic Gardens are
